FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Veracity USA
HIGHWIRE with Power over Ethernet IN devices
has been discontinued...but only this one device!

The rest of the HIGHWIRE family is available today.

Many of you reviewing this release have recently received an email from ISONAS regarding the OUTREACH LAN and PoE injector and how it can be used with ISONAS products to allow for installations well past 1,000 feet. Veracity has many products that you will find of interest, and we will be featuring these in a future post-ASIS e-mail. In the meantime, you can learn more about the Veracity line at http://www.veracityusa.com

Dallas, TX- Veracity USA is announcing that its HIGHWIRE with POWER OVER ETHERNET "IN" has been discontinued.

This announcement does not affect any of rest of the HIGHWIRE family of products such as HIGHWIRE with Power over Ethernet "OUT" (which would be used to power cameras, POE phones, etc.) or HIGHWIRE Quad.

HIGHWIRE with PoE "IN" was originally designed to allow you, the user, to power HIGHWIRE with power over ethernet as opposed to via the screw terminal to AC or DC power. Thousands of real-world installations later, we have realized that 99% of HIGHWIRE units in a control room or IDF closet are surrounded by local power and so power over ethernet is not needed. With that realization came the decision to end the manufacture of the HIGHWIRE with POE "IN".

Unfortunately there has been some small confusion with some of our distribution partners, who have incorrectly referenced the "VHW-HWP1" (the actual old product code was VHW-HWPI) and then inferred that the HIGHWIRE line was no longer available. Again, this is not the case- only the power over ethernet  "IN" version has been discontinued.

Otherwise Veracity is shipping HIGHWIRE, HIGHWIRE Quad as well as the rest of the product line and will be happy to personally assist you or direct you to a distribution sales office.

We apologize for any confusion, and thank you.

Scott Sereboff

P.S. Please be on the lookout for the Veracity post-show email, and also note the new address for Veracity USA:

4524 Banyan Lane, Dallas, TX 75287
As we have moved to a larger office!

To: All ToteVision Representatives/Customers

Subject: Year 2008 Planning and Strategy

GLASS SHORTAGE

I have just returned from the Consumer Electronics Show where I had fruitful and informative meetings with several industry experts and suppliers. What we discussed is important for all of us in planning sales and marketing activities for year 2008.

Re. LCD Glass Panel Supply and Pricing: Due to glass panel shortages, I expect LCD monitors in sizes 32”, 37”, 40” and 42” to increase in price each month from April through the end of the year. Sizes 47” and 52” may be more stable in pricing. Customers who have adopted a just-in-time inventory protocol may have to change strategy or risk being caught with no inventory. Those who delay placing orders in month #1, may face price increases in month #2. In all of my 27 years in this business, this supply situation is certainly one of the more unique situations. One supplier told me that he was 20,000 units short of glass panels in year 2007, and he predicts that it will be much worse in year 2008. He added that some secondary factories in China have already gone out of business due to the shortage. That might explain why some of our competitors have been unable to deliver.

Re. 23” and 26” Glass Panels: I expect these two sizes to disappear from the marketplace by the end of 2008. Because of this, it is most urgent that you obtain projections for the year from our customers so that we can plan for and accommodate their needs. We currently have a finite supply of these panels, and I expect that it will be enough to satisfy demand through year end. Nevertheless when these two choices have disappeared, customers will be left choosing between sizes 22” and 32” with nothing in between.

I hope that the above information assists you in helping our customers to plan ahead and act accordingly.

Best regards,

Bill Taraday, President
ToteVision, The Leader in LCD Monitors

AC & NC Announces
JetStor is Greener with MAID

One of the buzz words in data storage in 2008 is GREEN.  Many technologies are being developed and incorporated into RAID systems to conserve power consumption.  In data storage system, the most power consumption comes from spinning platters of HDD (Hard Disk Drives).

MAID (Massive Array of Idle Disks) is, simply put, a technology incorporated in a RAID system to spin down idle disks to conserve energy.  MAID incorporates a lot of technology to avoid compromise in performance and reliability while greatly reducing power consumption.  It helps the environment and improves customer's bottom line.

JetStor SCSI products have MAID technology incorporated in its firmware.  Lower end RAID systems like Dell Powervault MD1000 and HP MSA20 do not have this feature.  In fact, the MAID technology we have incorporated in JetStor is usually found in the highest class of RAID systems that are priced at a minimum twice to often several times higher.

While the amount of energy savings can vary depending on configuration, usage, environment, etc, JetStor can save 20% to over 50% of power usage with this new MAID technology.
